Microstock
What is microstock? (Micro) stock photography means selling digital(ized) photographs and illustrations royalty free via on line agencies. Every time one of your images gets downloaded you receive a share in the sale, the agency handles the storage, sales and marketing, the contributor (we) provide the images with keywords and descriptions attached. The single amount per image is rather small but the a high number of sales makes up for this. It sums up and many people are making a living of it or earn substantial "pocket money" to buy new camera gear. FAQ
What is royalty free/ Microstock?
Royalty free microstock means that buyers purchases licenses to use image for a low price (one to a few dollars normally), this generates more sales per image=higher overall payout for the artist then in traditional stock. Can I submit my images to more then one agency?
Absolutely, unless you have especially agreed to be exclusive to only one agency you can submit to as much sites as you want. The more images you have on more sites the more sales you can have. What images sell the best?
People (bear in mind that you need a model release for these kind of images), lifestyle, food and conceptual images are the ones that sell best. Do I keep the copyright to my work?
Yes! All the agencies mentioned below only license the images on your behalf, you keep the ownership. Where can I submit images?
